hospital play is a foundation degree course and as such the benefits of play for children's recovery during times of stress are recognised. Play enables distraction, a break from the pressures of less familiar environments, people, worry and anxiety which all helps the body's physiological responses. Play offers time for children to express their emotions helping them to share what's happening to them with others and come to terms with the experiences they're having.
