I'm confused Unit 306, 2.3 Develop holistic plans to support development and learning of children

Hi there!
This is my first post. My tutors give me so much work to fit into the last two weeks of my course and I've nearly completed it, yay! But I find myself stuck on these questions and she's on annual leave until the day before I finish! Please could someone just give me a guideline on what I need to write about please!!

There questions are:
(2.3) Develop holistic plans to support development and learning of children for the following areas:
a) communication and language
b) physical development
c) personal, social, emotional development, group learning and socialisation
d) literacy
e) numeracy/mathematics
f) understanding the world
g) expressive arts and design
h) meeting children's additional needs

Range: Children- including those with specific/additional needs

(3.1) Implement activities, play opportunities and educational programmes using holistic plans covering:
f) understand the world.
*I seem to have done the rest of this question when my tutor was observing me*

Thank you!!

Hi, a very warm welcome to the site. You say at the end of your post that your tutor covered some of the criteria whilst they were observing you, what planning were you using at that time?

Would you say the planning that happens in your setting takes account of holistic development, so that it enables children to ..

a) communication and use language?
b) be physical? whole body jumping, crawling & running or small muscle development with hands and eye coordination - scissors, paintbrushes?
c) learn about themselves personally, interact socially, explore emotions, be part of a group learning and discover how to be part of a group - patience, concentration, turn taking, sharing
d) literacy
e) numeracy/mathematics
f) understanding the world
g) expressive arts and design
h) meeting children's additional needs

If yes/no can you use a copy of the paperwork and see how you might be able to develop it by adding/editing areas?

(3.1) Implement activities, play opportunities and educational programmes using holistic plans covering: f) understand the world.

Use a reflective account of a time when the children were engaged in an activity that enabled them to learn about and understand the world.

These are the early leaning goals from EYFS which apply if you work in England.

Linking eyfs practice to elgs People and communities:
  • Children talk about past and present events in their own lives and in the lives of family members.
  • They know that other children don’t always enjoy the same things, and are sensitive to this.
  • They know about similarities and differences between themselves and others, and among families, communities and traditions.
Linking eyfs practice to elgs The world:
  • Children know about similarities and differences in relation to places, objects, materials and living things.
  • They talk about the features of their own immediate environment and how environments might vary from one another.
  • They make observations of animals and plants and explain why some things occur, and talk about changes.
Linking eyfs practice to elgs Technology:
  • Children recognise that a range of technology is used in places such as homes and schools.
  • They select and use technology for particular purposes.
Hth xx
