Hi, a warm welcome to the site.

Which handbook do you have to support your study & research?

This quote is from page 80 of the level 5 leadership book - search for 'comply' in the amazon 'look inside' preview

Your staff need to be aware of the responsibility they have to update their knowledge and to attend health and safety training on a regular basis. It is your responsibility to ensure that the opportunity to do this is available and that staff are encouraged to take the time to attend training courses so that there is no reason for not complying with health, safety and risk management policies and procedures. Failure to comply could mean the staff member would be put at risk of losing their job and there will also be consequences for the organisation.

There's similar wording that explains what to do on page 63 of this handbook or on page 8 of this superseded book

A copy of all the setting's policies and procedures will be good reading as you'll be able to find out how the HSE, Local Authority, Fire Brigade and Ofsted (if in england) are all involved with the setting, how they might be made aware of problems/breach of health and safety law and how they inspect the setting routinely with notification or as a result of information.

Maybe consider situations that highlight this policy & procedure eg. what would happen in your setting if you encountered chemical products left unattended on activity tables whilst the children were present.

Hope this helps a little, best wishes
