Hi how about when talking to parents you need to take into account their preferences they may prefer to talk face to face as perhaps they cant read very well rather than by letter or email others prefer to be kept informed by letter or email. Also different cultures dont like to be touched or constant eye contact to be held as it makes them feel uncomfortable. If you stand too close or use gestures they may be misconstrued and may make them feel threatened as some gestures may mean differnt things in other cultures Others like to talk in private rather than in a busy or noisy place as they may be hard of hearing. Hope this gives you some ideas
