International Nurses Day - 12th May
International Nurses Day is an awareness campaign organised by the ICN- International Council for Nurses ~ it is planned annually for the 12th of May ~ the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birthday.
The other great influence of the time was Elizabeth Fry she had a huge impact on Prison conditions and set up the very first nursing team.
I have only touched briefly on this campaign and have already found that there seems to be a little controvesy over origins, reasons and the wish to modernise role model practice.
Pesonally, I think it's a fantastic opportunity that has been given for everyone to take a single ~ internationally arranged day out of the year to say thanks to the work this sector does !

Physical Development
Usually when someone is being looked after in hospital they aren't supposed to exert themselves too much with physical exercises.
Take the children on a walk around your grounds - fresh air and taking the time to look around is beneficial & calming for patients - use a treasure hunt sheet that the children can tick things off of once found.
