Hi,

Can anyone tell me their understanding of their rights and expectations as a professional and how to assert them.
Also good practice in promoting equality explaining how and why they were effective.

Many Thanks

Hi, welcome to the site.

Your rights are underpinned by the Human rights act (for the moment), the equality act 2010 and under the HSW 1974 you can expect a safe and healthy workplace.

You also have the information in your home nation's EYs framework, the expectations in that ensures you can support and promote the care, learning and development of children, through ACAS you can expect professional, courteous, respectful relationships with colleagues as outlined in your job contract, the setting's policies and procedures will tell how you can assert these rights & expectations via meetings and lines of reporting - who to report to, how to raise concerns, whistle-blow.

SCMP 3 unit
and level 3 handbook on amazon.co.uk

If unit 071 is from the level 5 cluster you'll find chapter 5 of the handbook useful reading - on amazon.co.uk

Best wishes
