SOS Sample Reflective account

I'm not really confident in writing a reflective account. Could somebody please show me a sample reflective account so I have something to base and work on. Thank you.

Hi, first check with your tutor or course provider to see if they expect you to use a particular form for reflective accounts. Then if it helps these threads will explain a little more

Pages 132 and 179 of this level 2 STL handbook are also supportive.

Best wishes xx

Basically, just describe an experience you had then say what your thoughts were after reflecting on it. For example, what did you do well, what could you have done better etc.

E.g. (off the top of my head)

I used the last plaster in the first aid kit and made a mental note to order more but forgot. This led to a member of staff not being able to put a plaster on her cut finger. On reflection, I made a mistake and to prevent me forgetting things again I will write it down if I cannot do the task immediately. I also put in place a procedure for the first aid box to be checked weekly and supplies to be ordered once they hit a minimum threshold.

Obviously your account must be something relating to your work that you experienced.
