I have a question Sequence and rate.

Unit 2 question 1.
Can someone help please, I have to re-submit my answer for this question. My assessor has said I have made a positive start, however, I need to include all the points requested in the guidance

Q: Explain the meaning of ‘sequence’ and ‘rate’
Using a minimum of 100 words - Provide an explanation of the meaning of sequence and rate. Include examples of this within your answer to show understanding.
My answer:
Sequence means the order in which a child develops. There is a definite pattern to a child developing for example, a toddler being able to walk before they can run. A babies physical development may begin with sit up then walk and run missing out on crawling. The development still proceeds in what is an expected pattern despite it missing out an element of development.
Rate means the speed at which they develop. It is important to know that all children develop at a different rate, one child may start walking at a year old, while another may not start until they are 16 months. When the rate of development is recorded it can help to identify any concerns that you may have with the child development area. Which enables you to investigate further as to why this is happening.

Any help would be brilliant! My minds gone completely blank Thanks.

Hi, you're doing the STL course? Your assessor might be expecting you to use examples for older children, maybe the age group you work with?

Page 154 of the STL handbook
might help, search inside the preview for rate of development

Best wishes

Hey, yes I am! I have messaged her, just waiting for her response. Ill ask her again if she is wanting examples for various age groups. I didn't even think to include anything like that. Ill have another look through the book as well. Thank you !
