Confusion.

Hi guys, just curious about this, my tutor said that some of my unit was witness statements and that I should refer to myself as I, which I did...

I sent it to her and she said that I need to re-write them as someone was watching me and then writing them... because if I am 100% sure, no one will have watched me doing these because we are all busy during the day? And most of them are based on my key children and the experiences that I have had with them, so I don't know how I am meant to do this...

Does anyone know if this is true? I feel like she has just confused me and annoyed that she told me to do it one way then change it

'I' would be a reflective account completed by yourself about an event, an incident, an activity that you were part of and wrote about later, in reflection of what happened.

Witness statements are written statements made by someone else, that someone else needs to be an 'expert' and are usually approved by your course provider as being a suitably qualified to complete a witness statement. They could be a colleague/manager/supervisor/assessor/class teacher. The statement will be about the practice they witness/observe you performing in the setting.

What you're explaining seems to be a deviation of the rules. I would contact the course provider and repeat what you've said here.

Look at page 31 of this Cache guide for a detailed explanation of what an Expert witness' is.

so should I not change them? because she has copied all my writing that I did over onto these witness statement sheets she has because 'I took the effort to write them so it was the least I could do' and told me to do it?

Do you think I should talk with my manager about it tomorrow to see what she suggests?

i think you need to talk to the awarding body today

she is in effect asking you to forge statements "as if someone had seen you" is lying.

ring cache city and guilds or whoever the course is written by straight away.

I have had words with my manager and she will be speaking to her in person on Friday when I have a review, my manger has told me not to touch the work and bring it in to show her.
Thank you so much for your help guys I am extremely glad I asked before I started to make a start!

Thanks again from the bottom of my heart.

xx
