Disability

If a chid was to suffer with a disability then several areas of their development maybe affected at any one time, but if these was to be caught early then there will be different types of support that will be available to the child to help minimise the effects of that disability. Children that suffer some a physical or mental disability may find it harder to learn then other children their age, because of this they may need to have support that can help them catch up with their development. Some of this support can include things like different ways of teaching, additional help from another adult when at school, or the use of a specialised or adapted piece of equipment such as a computer or writing desk. Some the difficulties that a child could face if they suffer from a physical or mental disability could be sensory difficulties, behavioural problems, problems with thinking and understanding and how to relate to and behave around other people. These difficulties will then overlap with their school life therefore creating more problems and difficulties within school. They may have problem in school understanding different pieces of information that they are given, reading, writing and number work, how to express themselves, understanding what their peers and teachers are saying to them, how to behave correctly, how to organise themselves and how to form information. Within school there are many different things that teachers can do and different types of support to help identify special needs, they could organise ongoing assessments on the child's development and the could use observations and standardised screening assessment tools.

Emotional

If a child is not settles and not having good attachments with people they spend a fair amount of time with they are more likely to have low confidence and low self-esteem. This can lead to many of the different areas of development to be affected, for example they might not want to try out new tasks and have a lack of motivation when it comes to activities and playing. For example this will affect there emotional development because they may feel that they are not cared for and they will not want to make bond with other people such as there peers or friends at nursery. Low confidence will also affect this as they may not have the confidence to want to talk to their peers to help make a friendship. This may also affect their physical development because if they have a lack of motivations because of not being settled or having good attachments then they may not move around as much and they mays it down for most of the day in the same place playing with the same thing.

Physical

Physical development can be affected by manny different reasons, one of these reasons may be that the child could have a physical illness that could be caused by their genetics and this can mean that physical growth may have difficulties and they may not grow to the size that the should be for their age and this could cause them to also be a slower learner as well. Some of the things that they may not learn because of this, nay be that their walking and movement could be affected and the child may take longer to learn to walk by a later age then other children. From this happening they could then not learn to run, jump or climb until a much later age therefore pushing there whole physical development back.

Not sure on any of the others yet :)
