communication and positive relationships

please can someone help my mind has gone completly blank!!!!

why would a parent not really want to communicate with you??? what might prevent a parent form understanding you?

Barriers to communiation might be ..
Language used - use of jargon, where English is not a first language, where sight & hearing impairment is involved or accent, use of local dialect causes difficulty in understanding.
