Default I've come across a block trying to access Level 3 diploma

I'm wanting to do my level 3 diploma. I was told at the interview that if I join the Childminding Network then I could have a bursary for part of the fees for the diploma.

So I got in touch with the co-ordinator for the Network only to be told that I have to have a good or outstanding to be able to join. I got a satisfactory in my last report and I'm not due a next report until 2014.

Now I didn't see on the leaflet for the Childminding Network that there was a grade criteria so I questioned it. She told me that it's not in the leaflet but it is part of terms and conditions.

She said that she could visit and carry out the family audit and also send me a initial assessment for me to fill in. If I score 5 or above from a limit of 7 we can discuss if I can still join the network before my inspection.

What is this Family audit and the assessment (Richmond borough)? Does anyone know?

Im part of Chasewater District Childminding Network and we dont have to reach a grade to join. We get new childminders join all the time . As I understand it, the network is where you get support from . The childminders in this network have been very supportive from the day I started childminding . I dont know if its different for different areas , just thought Id let you know its not like that in this one .

many networks are quality marks and dont take anyone under a good for 2 running. if you havent got a level 3 qualification then you may get it free in any case ask at the college
