its another question made complicated by the fancy words lol

why are activities, equipment, experiences and materials important in building/improving the childrens creativity, how do they build creativity and how effective are they?

which activities etc would you use? how they make their creativity better?

activites and experiances etc are important in building a childs creativity, as children learn from their experiances (piaget) and then use the experiances in imagination and creativity, for example: role play-in this, children use experiances they have had to invent situations and build ideas (i.e be creative and imaginative).

things the children experiance and see are very important in their creativity, (for example: when creating a way of dealing with a problem in the future) as children learn from what they observe in the activities and experiances (bandura).

Resources(equipment and materials provided) are also valuable in a childs creativity as they provide a wide variety of outlets for the children to express and develop their creativity. for example a non verbal child may express creativity and develop it through the use of crayons in drawing/mark making.

however, reasorces and activities etc may not be essential in developing creativity, you will notice how a baby creativly moves their hands and feet and plays with them, prehaps a humans drive to explore and genetic programing to develop ideas is enough for them to develop some creativty alone (nature v nurture) although it is proven that resources etc may develop it further...

activities and reasorces (etc) would be selected based on previous observation of the children and effective planning(planning cycle). the ones used would be developmentally appropriate (differentiation) so... and they would be things the children were interested in to...

an activity such as....will build a childs creativity as it ....

hope this helps

Been struggling with this question too! You're so right about the fancy words!
My tutor said to say about the time you give them too and how regularly planning creative experiences help.

Thanks someone special - now I understand sally's statement at the end- don't laugh had been looking through paperwork over and over!!!!

yeah your tutors right you can say how and why its more effective if activities etc that promote creativity are provided regularly also about how they give the child time to be creative and you could even mention about the environment set up-things on childs level, free play (marria montesori) verses structured and adult let activities (which kind of activity allows the child to be more creative?) and also about changing/updating/rotating reasorces and materials etc

yw happy to help
