Hi hope this helps. All the areas are linked as you will know. Each affects and is affected by the other.. for example the ability to operate well in society is affected by the ability to use language effectively. When children use language effectively they will have more opportunity to interact socially with their peers and adults. For what ever reason children vary in their rates of development throughout the five main areas and this should always be considered when referring to charts and guides. Also the children's prior experiences of things will differ. That's why is it essentail that practitioners try to find out as much information about a child's prior experiences and knowledge.
