Key factors on children's health and safety:
Social/cultural/ethnic factors - eg sickle cell anaemia is a disease that can ONLY be found in afro carribean children, different cultures have different rituals such as muslims facing MECCA five times a day to pray...could you provide this safely at your nursery or school - how would you accommodate children wishing to do this in a room?
Gender - think of health and safety issues...do the same for
Language and communication
Disabilities - eg health and safety with regard to having a child in a wheelchair at your nursery - how would you provide?
Stage of development - babies....what health and safety factors do you take into account, what about 8 year olds?

hope this helps
