hi all im doing this nvq level 3 while working at local nursery and am stuck on this general question section we have been asked to do , i dont no if any one can help me on this .
the question is in four parts .

which laws affect your work setting in respect of :-

children and young poeple's rights responsibilties and personal beliefs:

the children act 1989
the un convention on the rights of the child 1991
the education act 1993
the dda 1995 (disability discrimination act)
1996 education act
the human rights act 1998
the special educational needs and disability act 2001
childcare act 2006
national service framework for children young poeple and maternity services


which laws affect your work setting in respect of :-
your role as a worker

the equal pay act 1970
*** discrimination act 1975
dda
hra
employment rights act 1996
race relations act 2000


which laws affect your work setting in respect of :-

maintaining ,passing and transmitting confidential information, eg

data protection act

which laws affect your work setting in respect of :-
ensuring health and safety eg.

heralth and safety at work act 1974
health and safety (first aid)regulations 1981
consumer protection act1987 (safety of equipment)
reporting of injuries , diseases and dangerous occurrences
regulations 1995 (riddor)
childrens act 1989
fire precautions regulations 1997
control of substances hazardous to health regulations 2002 (coshh)

food hygiene act 1990

it says to briefly explain in a few sentences or paragraph each of these that affect your work seting

HI Sarah

I dont know about the other stuff but the health and safety bit is the Health & Safety at Work act 1974, Health & safety (First Aid) Regs 1981, RIDDOR, Fire Precautions Regs 1997 & COSHH.

Have just done a piece on those so I am pretty sure they are right for the health & Safety. Hope it helps - if only a little!!!
