Hi, purposeful and well planned means an environment or place that has been carefully thought out.

Each item/object that's been provided fulfils a need and has an intention.

This helps to make sure there aren't too many toys around that have limited play value or clutter the area up making play & learning harder, distracts or intefers with the ability to concentrate. Furniture items that could otherwise restict movement are well planned & placed, purposeful & well planned also really helps to keep storage space under control

If you look at your setting and see the furniture, resources and the layout that it has you may find there are areas planned that helps you as adults and providers meet the needs of your children in your care - the six areas of learning are covered and your setting is inclusive.

Purposeful & well planned could explain why there is a balance/equal number of dolls house and garages to play with - where there is more of one than the other you may also find reasons to shows why .. this evidences how well planned & purposeful the resources can be in individual situations. Where the reason is missing or since passed .. more garages were once needed to fulfil the number of Children that wanted to play with them, reassessment of why the toys are still there, if they are all still used in the same way/purposefully & equally could be looked at.

Purposeful v purposeless
Well planned v unplanned and all things unexpected

Hth xx
