Default Supporting children's communication?

How would you support children's communication in your setting?

I use signing(total communication) and have a keychain of basic symbols that i use for tidy up, wash hands etc. I have a mark-making table with all kinds of mark-making resources freely available, I have a choices board-photos of resources and also routines such as nappy, cup, snacks. we do lots of singing/music/stories. I ask open ended questions and give children time to answer. I have a karoake machine and children like to sing/talk into the microphone, also puppets and mirrors around the setting, a cosy book corner. The local preschool uses "talking tins" from the RNIB which are fantastic.
