Default GCSEs instead of NVQ

I am new here so please bear with me. I have GCSE's and A levels but a job I'm wanting to apply for requires level 2 child care qualification. Does this mean I can't apply? Please help as in my days they would ask for GCSEs and A Levels.

what do u mean? i applied at college even thou i got gcse but i have no a levels i started from the bottom doing level 1 then 2 now im level 3 but that my personal goal.the only thing i had to have is a child care knowlege which i done as gcse to start off with
