Smoothies are an easy tasty way of getting your recommended '5-a-day' fruit and veggies, my family are big fans so here are some of our favourite recipes:

Strawberry Banana - serves 2 - handful fresh/frozen strawberries, 1 banana, ice, fresh orange juice. Tip - leave the tops on the strawberries as they contain a lot of nutrients and once it's all whizzed smooth you won't know they're there.
Mixed Berry - serves 2 - handful fresh/frozen mixed berries, 1 banana, ice, fresh orange juice.
Banana Mango - serves 4 - 1 large ripe mango peeled and chopped, 2 ripe bananas, ice.
Breakfast Berry - serves 2 - 300g/12oz pot natural yogurt, 1 tbsp wheatgerm, handful each blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, sweeten to tast with honey.
Vanilla Thriller - serves 4 - 1 x 420g tin fruit cocktail, 500ml fresh orange juice, 1 cap vanilla essence, ice.
Peachy Pineapple Punch - serves 4 - 220g tin pineapple, 420g tin peach, 1 litre apple juice, ice, ground cinnamon to taste.
Orchard Spice - serves 4 - 830g tin pear, 1 litre apple juice, ice, ground cinnamon to taste.
Banana Peanut Butter - serves 1 - 1 small banana, 25g crunchy peanut butter, 150ml semi-skimmed milk, 1 tsp maple syrup/clear honey, ice.
Strawberry - serves 1 - 100ml milk, 1 pot low-fat strawberry yogurt, good handful fresh strawberries, ice.
Fruity Rabbit - serves 2 - 1 banana, 250 ml carrot juice, large handful raspberries, handful grapes, ice.
Fruit Dream - serves 2-4 - good handful each strawberries, blueberries, grapes, splash apple juice, 1 peach de-stoned, ice.
Tropitastic - serves 2 - 1 tin mango, 1 peeled pink grapesfruit, handful grapes, splash pineapple juice, ice.
Each Peach, Pear, Orange - serves 2 - 1 jaffa orange peeled, 1 large dessert pear cored, 1 peach de-stoned, splash apple juice, ice.
Banana Pear - serves 1 - 1 banana, 1 pear, splash apple juice, ice.

Try adding a pinch of mixed spice/ginger/cinnamon - it 'beefs' up the flavour.
Pop a couple of cherry tomatoes in - they're sweet enough to go unnoticed as is fresh beetroot (great purple colour!)
