Hi, it can help if you look at what anti discriminatory means to you personally.
How you feel about that and then how you think your group/setting feels about it .. sometimes this can help separate your personal thoughts and professional approach - where, although you may have very specific views on something these are held back when dealing with a situation professionally.
Are there things that you'd change in your setting to make it more inclusive - less discriminate, what are they and how would you make the changes.
Anti discriminatory practice can be so many things that it's more of a whole way of doing things - can you think of any experiences that you've come across and thought are nice - anti discriminatory: parent & toddler car parking spaces? what are they and why were they put there.
Floor markings in some places that enable you to get where you're going.
If you apply some of these ideas to Preschool you can look at low level tables, chairs, washing and hand drying facilities or easy safe access to these - why this might be necessary and how they are anti discriminatory.
Bringing in a special occasion food or other items help to raise everyones knowledge of the event, its history and reason for celebration - why this can be anti discriminatory, in that it helps everyone to learn about the event, form their own and group opinion on it and understand why it might be important to some and not so much to others.
Hope this helps a little more, is your placement with preschoolers ?
