I stuck on this question:
how to communicate with all families represented in your setting or service, including those with communication barriers or difficulties????

My head is going around in circles. would anyone be able to suggest some ideas and maybe a starting point please???

How would you communicate with a family who's first language isn't English maybe by having an interpreter/translator in or using pictorial books,the same if you had a family/child who had hearing problems or was deaf what could you do to help.In my setting we use interpreters but we also have communication books to write in that we us to log whatwe do but also for the parents to write in anything they want to know or what their childs done at the weekend,we also use a mobile phone to text if we need to contact them about accidents/medicine or if we need them to fetc their child for any reason.You could also send staff on courses relevant to the needs you need to meet eg sign language,foreign language courses I hope this helps this is what I would have written.
