General question What to do next!

Hi, I have just finished CCLD NVQ Level 3 and am thinking of doing level 4. What other options or qualifications are open to me (I work in a pre-school), and what sort of level will completing 4 get me to? My friend is starting a university course - if I thought of doing the same, where do I start and what courses are open to me? Hope someone can help!!!!

Hi and welcome

NVQ4 and the Foundation degree - FD are familiar next steps, along with the OU's E123 & E124 ..

If possible I'd advise asking your local EYs team what funding is available, who may be running the courses, where, times and what the support is ...

Hth

Enjoy the Site & look forward to hearing how things go

xx

I've just completed E123 and E124 with the Open University and together they give me a level 4 qualification (cert EYP) (when I get the results in Dec). I found them very interesting and fairly straight forward. You have to send in 4 assignments in total for each course (3 marked by your tutor and 1 marked independently). The courses support each other well. The next start date is feb09. You can do each course seperately but I believe in the near future they are planning to merge them into one course.
My local early years have funded my studies so the only cost to me has been time (I stopped watching rubbish on tv, though still watch crime dramas and comedy). Also my son is at secondary school so apart from help with homework, he is quite independent. And hubbie is very supportive, helping with housework etc.
Whatever you choose, go for it!!! and good luck
