Relevant legal requirements and procedures covering confidentiality and the disclosure of information

My version ...

What are you legally required to put in place or to make sure happens automatically - so that everything about confidentiality and disclosing information is known about, protected, done properly and complies with the law.

Whole thread with mention of Data protection

Confidentiality in realistic terms on this thread

The method does seem pretty horrendous for people working the theoretical K&U .. day in day out .. you end up saying yes that's covered in that policy and that in that .. OFSTED recommend we do it this way so that that's complied with, that's ok and this applies as well. EY suggests this legislation is being introduced and that needs to change or adapt to accomodate it

and then K&U asks you to put all that down comprehensively and in an understandable and easy to read format

Can you list/find out what legal requirements are needed for confidentiality & disclosure?

Look forward to reading others ideas on this ..

With this question you will have to look at all the information you keep on both children and staff. Name, date of birth, religion, ethnicity etc. this is all classed as confidential information. How do you store it e.g. locked filing cabinet. Who has access to it, when will it be necessary to share, do you get parental/staff permission All information should be kept in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998

What is confidential Information
This is information which is personal to the individual person. It can include our address, phone number, birth date, employment history; it may contain information about our past, our state of health etc.

Hope this helps

Hi and welcome to Silkysteps, this is an older thread - Donzo if you're reading how's everything going xx

I'd suggest bullet pointing what you want to say and then build on each as they're used as starting points for further research.

Data Protection Act 1998 & Freedom of Information Act 2000

If you search online for 'Information sharing guidance: 'How to' guides there are a few publications that will help

Hth, best wishes and enjoy the site
xx
