Float ?

Does anyone keep a float of coins/notes in Pre school or are all monetary things handled by committee members / management ?

We take in money and reciept it, but as majority ate funded this is only a little for lunch club.
We have a float of £20.00 per week for food drink and cleaning materials, any more needed fro things like phone top ups or postage stamps etc we ask the treasurer for it, or she does the job for us.
Treasurer takes the money once a week and checks and balances them for the bookkeeper to enter on the accounts! (job share for treasurer, one has overall responsibility, other does the books and paperwork.)
we find iyt better continuity for staff to rake money as committee member not always available
