Default Restraining Policy

Hi,
Does anyone have a restraining policy in their setting?
And.... ...anyone care to share?

lol

We had a single statement in our Behaviour policy that said trained staff would use resonable/non threatening restraint in order to protect the child from self harm or from causing harm to others.
I think some include this is their Child protection policy as well.

All events & actions would have to be documented/witnessed appropriately and parents informed immediately.

All that was some time ago though and I'm not sure what current policy/thinking/PCness is at the moment !!

EY Child protection policy from Staffordshire.gov.uk looks very good (dated 2005 so does need re-adopting I would imagine !!)
