Hi, welcome to the site. Childcare settings are one part of the whole sector. Many other organisations such as charities, agencies, teams and individual professionals make up that sector. Some are influential, innforming and instigating change for childcare providers through the research they undertake, the reports and guidance they publish and the awareness campaigns they promote to improve the knowledge and practices of those in the child care, learning and development sector.

Ofsted (if you work in England) who influence the sector with the reports they publish, how there is a requirement to register a setting and be available for inspection.

The NSPCC influence the sector with the work they undertake to raise awareness of issues - the underpants campaign, hold a library of serious case reviews and the support they provide to children. PCAW is also a safeguarding organisation.

The PLA Pre-school Learning Alliance. policy influence is one of their mission statements

The NDNA National Day Nurseries Association

Skills Active if playwork is part of your setting's provision?

Have you checked with your tutor to see if they expect you to look at any specific organisation?

Best wishes
