I'm confused Holistic learning and play

Ive just read the questions for my next unit and they are really making me . Usually I'll have a basic idea of what I need to write and my books and online research will help me to expand and answer the questions BUT this unit is completely different, I feel like I know nothing.

I have contacted my assessor to express my worries but could anyone help in the mean time? I have found some info in my books and a little online but it seems very broad and mentions nothing that would help me answer 2.1.

These two are particularly freaking me out, especially 2.1. . .

2.1 Explain the systematic synthetic phonic approach.

3.6 Explain how multi-agency teams work together to support children’s development of speech, language and communication.

Any help, links to good websites or explanations would be HUGELY appreciated.

Thank you

Hi, having a systematic approach to teaching phonics enables children to learn the sounds directly in a way that meets their needs ie. over a planned length of time to ensure understanding, by age, stage of development and learning style.

Choosing a phonics programme on gov.uk

There is some information on page 212 of this level 3 STL handbook and by asking your school/setting which commercial programme they use you'll be able to research the way in which it's meant to be used.

A systematic approach links to holistic learning as it's able to encompass the whole child, through all areas of learning rather than one specific area, their time spent in a learning environment, where in a setting they enjoy being and the ways in which they learn - through rhymes, text in the environment both inside and outside, interaction with adults and peers, during daily routines - holistic learning.org.uk

Phonics for early years - adults use of phonics in daily speech & communications
phonics for reception
Phonics for Yr 1 keystages 1 2 3

These resources may help with 3.6
