Been a while and a question

Hello everybody,

Firstly sorry if I was missed (probably not but you never know )

Things have been busy here as ever and also I am pregnant, 14 weeks now so been very tired with that although things settling down now.

So some questions for those of you that have been pregnant:

How long did you ?

What did parents do about interim childcare?

When did you tell parents if you were going to have to give them notice? I ask this as I work with 3 families and I will have to give notice to 1 family as don't want to (and probably Ofsted won't allow) for me to have 4 under 5's 5 days a week.

Any other info/experiences would be appreciated, thanks

Ooh! I hadn't thought about that. I was going to leave it until I knew what mindees I would have and then contact them with a request for variation at the same time if needed.

Anyone know if I should be contacting them sooner?

I can't see it matters either way as long as you have a risk assessment on yourself !! lol

I'd of thought it makes more sense to contact them when you know what changes you need making .. but not been in that position so hopefully someone will know !

Thanks everybody. I was going to speak to the parents of the little one I will have to let go today but because of the snow they aren't coming. I have spoken to another childminder who has vacancies and is on their route so am going to give them her details.

I am still undecided about how long to . I thought I might ask Ofsted what is the norm. I am thinking 2-3 months but then not sure if I should take more but then don't want to lose the children to other childcarers.

It seems that no-one has childminded when pg so feel a bit like I am alone with all these decisions but am sure it will all be fine really.
