General question L2 unit 009 what are risk assessments and when are they carried out?

unsure how to put this into words, without going on! want to keep it short but cover necessary points.
Thank you x

Have done this one now
A hazard is anything in the workplace that has the potential to harm people
A risk is the chance or probability that a person will be harmed if exposed to the hazard

risk assessments are carried out whenever the school/class are going to do an activity such as a trip out, they have to asses any potential hazards-such as crossing the road-(make sure an adult is present at road side), travel arrangements(seat belts booster seats etc..) did you manage to get this done?

all places of work have ongoing risk assessments wich are reviewed regularly, i.e to ensure health and safety.

I work in residential child care we have to have a risk assessment prior to a young person coming into our setting, to ensure that we are the right placement for the young person. and there is no risk to other young people in the home or staff, we review the risk assessments at every lac review, and in the event of a incident, we put stratagies in place, i.e staffing, behaviour managment, referals to other services,
