Default planning for play group advice needed

Hi all, I am after some advice with regards to resources that are put out each day for our play group. The same sets are put out every day ie paints, play dough (without rolling pins and cutters) kitchen (without food). This is my first role working with EYFS but cannot get round the lack of resources put out, when the cupboard is bursting with them. Can anyone explain the reasons for this?

Hi, is this a question you feel comfortable raising with colleagues, maybe at the next meeting or during the course of a session? Have you taken the initiative and asked or enquired about adding rolling pins & cutters to dough play and if there is a reason why so few items are provided?

Is there confusion over what to put out.
Are children expected to lead resource selection?
Is everyone aware what resources are available
Does planning identify resources that could be used but that are overlooked when preparing any areas?
Has there been conflict over resources which has caused a possibly inappropriate decision to limit or restrict their use - children sharing, turn taking or maybe colleagues are acting on guidance given externally by others.
Are colleagues confident in planning activities that are influenced by children's interests?
Are the values of resources welcomed, understood and when they are in use are their attributes celebrated in the setting - what else cuts like a cookie cutter's cut?

Hth, let us know what happens xx
