Anti bullying week -
17th ~ 21st November 2008
This years theme for anti-bullying week is "Bullying and Racism " . It sees mainly Primary & Secondary school students & teachers taking part in a variety of activities tackling the sensitive and distressing issues of Bullying.
But is a great opportunity for us to include and engage our Under fives & KS1 children in conversation about everyday situations that they find upsetting and intimidating.
Talking about sharing, turn taking and patience is of vital importance as they learn to get on with others - who are also learning that things are done differently by differnt people.
Being able to ask someone for help in situations where they cannot deal with the actions of another is a huge turning stone in giving confidence to the children, as it shows that they are not alone and can seek assistance whenever they feel it's necessary.
