Our school’s aims:
That no member of the school community, children, staff, family, parent or governor is discriminated against.
To promote and provide inclusive practice for all children and their families.
To promote anti-discriminatory practice through direct teaching in the curriculum and through monitoring and checks.
All children should receive equal access to the national curriculum.
Senior staff are responsible for monitoring equal access and inclusion via children’s progress and attainment.
No child shall be discriminated against on the grounds of gender, race, backgrounds, religion, disability or special educational needs.
The curriculum will support anti-discriminatory practices through direct teaching in Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship education.
Recruitment will follow equal opportunities guidelines.
The school will actively work to overcome barriers to inclusion and monitor effectiveness.
Continued professional development will be made accessible to all staff regardless of race, gender, disability and age.
Any breaches of our inclusion and anti-discrimination policy should be reported in the first instance to the head teacher who will be responsible for carrying out a full investigation. The investigation must be recorded and further actions taken if deemed necessary. The importance of monitoring provision and the need for accountability to children, parents, families and other agencies is that the parents and children need to feel safe and secure within the setting. Parents need to be assured that the welfare requirements and needs of their child are being met.
