Encourage children's independence in feeding routines.................
At my school, every morning, the children are asked what lunch they are having eg packed lunch or school dinners. The children who have packed lunch have to put their lunchboxes on the lunchbox trolley.
The children have snack time (this is fruit and encourages them to make healthy choices) and biscuit time, and helpers are chosen every day to give these out.
At lunchtime, the children have to raise their hands when they have finished eating, and then the dinner lady can check they have eaten enough so then they can go out to play.
...........
according to family requirements and practice
do the children have any allergies eg nuts, wheat, gluten, dairy?
do their family want them to have a special diet eg vegetarian, vegan?
Have any of the children have special diets because of their religion? eg halal meat, no pork etc....
Making sure that the children eat a healthy and varied diet according to best practice eg no sweets or chocolate bars in their lunchboxes, healthy snack choices
Hope this helps.........
