new baby in the family, single parent family, dual language family, step-parents and step siblings, half siblings, much older siblings, position in the family eg oldest, youngest, middle child, problems in the family eg alcholism, drug addiction, parents who constantly argue, children who are neglected/live in poverty, both parents are working, sibling has behavioural problems, parent/s do not treat their children equally, child abuse - emotional, physical etc Supportive parents, educated parents, parents who can afford to provide educational resources at home eg videos, books toys Children who get exercise, children who have plenty of chances to socialise

All of the above and more will affect a child's development in some way
