Help SOS Unit 206 K2D96

My mind has just gone blank so if anyone could help me start this question i would be very grateful.

Why is it necessary for children's imaginative play to flow freely and with minimal adult intervention whilst recognising that sometimes sensitive intervention maybe necessary to move the play along.

Play is natures way of learning children can feel free and in control of what they are doing without knowing they are learning they are learning without direct teaching .In play children construct knowledge by combining ideas , impressions ,and intuitions with their experiences .They create theories about themselves and the world and share them with others .Because their play is self led play leads to feelings of competence , self confidence and self identity .
Why is it sometimes necessary for adults to sensitively interact with imaginative play to move the play along
Supporting children’s play is more important children’s play culture doesn’t happen naturally play needs time and space .It needs mental and material stimulation to be offered . Sometimes children need help to make the next step in their play.
