Hi,
EYMP1-1.1 Explain the legal status and principles of the relevant early years framework, and how national and local guidance materials are used in settings.
Read the introduction in your
home nation's framework - in England it will be the
EYFS
That will explain how implementing an Early Years framework is statutory ie. the law requires it for registered settings and in the EYFS document it mentions an order that's made under section 39 of the Childcare Act 2006. What guidance materials are used depends on your setting. eg. development matters, early years outcomes, any supportive forms/books that your local authority provides the setting.
EYMP1-1.2 Explain how different approaches to work with children in the early years have influenced current provision in the UK.
Researching the different approaches can be done on pages
211+ of the Heinemann handbook. you'll be looking into the works of Maria Montessori, Rudolph Steiner, High/Scope, Susan Isaacs, Margaret McMillan and the
Common Core.
EYMP1-1.3
Explain why early years frameworks emphasise a personal and individual approach to learning and development
Once you've completed 1.1 and 1.2 you'll see how this criteria helps you understand the issues and importance of children's individuality. How each of us is different, with personal needs needing to be met and differing interests that support a child's well-being, learning & development and what practitioners can do to support, promote and expand that sense of well-being, learning and development.
