Help SOS CCLD303 K3D205

Hi this is my first post. I stumbled across this forum because I was looking for some help with this question.
"What is the importance of having high expectations of children, based on realistic expectations of what they can achieve.?"
In the text book it seems to say that we should not set high expectations as it could lead to low self esteem in later life !!
Maybe I'm just having an off day because I don't know what to put.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I like many seem to be struggling with this module.
