We don't charge. I do say that I will charge if parents don't let me know their child will be off. I can often fill a vacant 'slot' and if I can't and I have a member of staff that's not as busy as usual, that's no great thing - there are always plenty of things they can be doing, children's learning files to go through with children, an opportunity for a 'stay and chat' with a parent who needs some quality time, even sorting out a jigsaw box with a small group of children.

The kindergarten should have given you a "Terms and Conditions" of the setting. Fees should be listed in this. Most settings charge for absence to meet costs of staff, insurance, rent etc.
