Help SOS EYE L3 - Criteria 3.15 Longitudinal Study! HELP!!!

Hi everybody,

I'm really struggling with the critical assessment of my longitudinal study! I've got the marking criteria and I'm trying to work to it and I keep asking my tutor for help but all she says is "just refer to your observations and activities" but I just feel like I'm getting nowhere!!! I don't know what I need to write, how long it needs to be or what sort of detail I need to go into!
My contract finished at my setting on Friday so I can't get anymore info on the child and I just feel like dropping out at the last hurdle :(

Any pointers on what and how to write it would be really helpful!
Thanks in advance,
Abbie!

Hi, if it still helps, you can find support on pages 382+ of this Early Years Educator book for longitudinal studies, specifically page 391 that looks at AC 3.1 Critically evaluate the outcomes of longitudinal studies:
  • Introducing your study
  • Child's development stage, interests and needs.
  • What your own role is
  • Explanation of why you chose your assessment methods
  • What the current framework is for your setting (England is EYFS)
  • Theorhetical perspectives
  • Partnership working]
  • Holistic development
  • The environment
  • Play for learning and development
Your tutor is best placed to help as they know the details of your study and what you've already written. If you're stuck on a particular aspect of the study please feel free to post xx

All the best xx
