Hi
Consider how you give children activities that stretch them but not so much so that they cannot achieve the task set for them.
Failure can make children unwilling to try again, but success will give them a sense of achivement and enable them to go on to try other new challenging things.
Children, like adults, live up to what is expected of them. If we have high expectations of them, they will try to meet them,... so long as they are not so high as to be unachievable. Otherwise the child can become disheartened.
If we have high expectations of children, we are giving them a sense of worth and showing that we value them.
