Default Newbie seeking advice/just venting

Hello all....
I'm working towards my NVQ/QCF Level 3, and I need some advice.

I've done a mock maths test, and failed it. Luckily, my tutor will help me with it when we have our visit in July. I also have to give a talk about a topic which I know a lot about. I've chosen Thanksgiving, since it's fairly simple topic for me. I've written the text out, and put everything on record cards for when I do the talk, but, my tutor suggested props. We do have some home corner resources at work, but, not many-they always seem to get lost. Should I just buy some packets of play food from ELC/Amazon?

I think I'm just over thinking the whole thing, but, this whole process is pretty new to me. I haven't been in a proper learning situation since 2006, and all of that was classroom based in America. I really want to finish this process, since it's been going on since November of 2011. My former tutor became pregnant, and her visits to the setting were infrequent. I now have a key skills tutor, and a childcare focused tutor. I hope that when I finish, I'll be able to have a stable position within my setting, as I am currently the "resident floater".

Sorry for the waffling, but, I needed to say it amongst people who understand!

Good luck to all of you on your work!
