Hi, welcome to silkysteps. Everyone's experience in the workplace varies. Can you maybe identify times where a parent has come to you and raised a matter they want to share, or where a preference raised by a parent has been actioned through a meeting. eg. dietary preferences, a vegan or celiac sufferer has expressed preferences over the foods served for children's snack or meals?
A parent who's child has the first signs of infection - a runny/sniffy nose maybe asks the setting to keep the child inside.
A book freely available in story corner causes conflict and a parent asks if it can be removed.

Challenging behaviour could be a child who confronts another child/adult defending their right to decline compliance - maybe they dislike or have not yet finished a task they've been asked to help with/clear away .. or a child that struggles to express what they're feeling and to communicate throws a chair across the room ...
Biting, spitting, spitting out food, hitting, kicking, screaming as a response, emotional withdrawal, attatchment and transitional concerns.

The term 'challenging behaviour' has been used t refer to the unwanted or unacceptable behaviours that might be shown by children or adults (usually but not always) with a learning disability. Such behaviours include aggression (hitting, biting, kicking) destruction (ripping clothes, breaking windows, throwing objects) self injury ( head banging, self biting, skin picking) tantrums and many other behaviours.
Normally challenging behaviour puts the individual or others in jeopardy, or has a significant impacton their quality of life.
How you've taken your learning from the course to the setting is unique :)
Maybe you've been able to raise awareness of different aspects to policies and procedures, laws and regulations. Maybe you've found the college recommends ideas that you feel the setting would benefit from, how have you shared that information with them? Are you more confident now in your knowledge and understading, maybe you look forward to chatting with parents/colleagues about the setting's activities and provison in general having discovered how it all supports children's holistic development. Have you made contacts outside of the setting that expands on the multi-agency approach to working with other professionals?

I hope this helps a little, please enjoy the site xx
