Hi

Explain current Government Guidance on nutritional needs.

If you work in england the download on the middle link of this page will help: http://www.childrensfoodtrust.org.uk.../ey-resources/

If you work in Wales, NI or Scotland this page has links to national, nutritional publications

Plan a weeks menu, highlighting how it is balanced and meets Government Guidance.

Where possible use your setting's menu planning as guidance you'll need to check each meal complies with calories, salt, sugar, fat, vitamins, calcium, iron requirements.

Explain why it is important to follow instructions given by carers in respect of their child’s food allergies or intolerance's.

Failing to do this could be life threatening to the child and have criminal implications for the setting.

Identify the dietary requirements of different cultural or religious food groups.

Consider the foods eaten & drinks taken by vegans, vegetarians, Jewish, Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Buddhist, Rastafarian - understanding what the word Jewish kosher and Muslim halal means on gov.uk

Page 15 of the level 3 handbook also explores these criteria.

Best wishes
