Hi, by Teena Kamen? I don't currently have that book but does the reading on page 284 help you relate to the practices happening within your school/placement?

If not, can you access a copy of the level 3 STL handbook ? pages 164-6 & 274 will help you identify how the school supports children through a range of different transitions. eg. starting primary school, moving to a new class at the beginning of the academic year, the last year and moving on to secondary school. The transition of daily learning to times when children's knowledge is tested, for younger children the transition between changing rooms or activities can impact on their intellect, behaviour and wellbeing. And physiological changes as children develop, grow and mature.

Ask in your school for a copy of the policy that might deal with these transitions.

Best wishes
