Default QCF course but does not meet mandatory criteria?

Hi,
I am currently studying for the level 3 certificate in supporting teaching and learning in schools. It is a QCF course and is on the OFQUAL register: http://register.ofqual.gov.uk/Qualif...ils/501_0403_2

but when you put it on the education.gov website: https://www.education.gov.uk/eypqd/q...ion-detail-480

it states that This qualification does not meet all the mandatory criteria. Accredited training required. I am so confused my local college is also running this course, does this mean that this course is a pile of rubbish??

please can someone enlighten me..I just hope I havent wasted a lot of money... thanks

General question

Hi fizzuk83
I'm doing the same course as you , when I started the course I emailed someone at the ncc training helpline and asked them if this was recognised in schools and they said it was , I really hope it is to as I've payed for it to and really don't want to find out at the end it's worth nothing , if I find out anything I will let you know

Default

what it means is that it is just a course that allows you to work in a specific setting, ie a school. the full level 3 ie the DCYPW gives you a license to practice unsupervised in `ANY setting age 0 to 19 including schools yours just qualifies you for one job.

see the difference
