Default Please HELP ;)

Hi, i have never posted on here before, although i love the site and have been helped lots already. I am really struggling with a case study the question is;

Discuss the following case study. Explain the concerns you may have in the development of the child. Why might the child not follow the expected pattern of development? What agencies might be involved? How might interventions/strategies be used to promote positive outcomes for the child?

Tom is in yr 7. He has recognised special needs - Aspergers Syndrome which is higher order Autism. TA notices that Tom becomes agitated in class. He rocks, flaps his hands and has body jerks which can be associated with his condition. He also has Tourettes Syndrome and frequently calls out in class. The TA notices Tom will be calm at certain times in class like when he is writing or reading and will demonstrate increased stress when having to speak to adults or anyone moves near him.

If anyone can give me some direction with this case study i would be extremely grateful .... struggling big time

From previous experiences the first thing that needs to be done is an in depth observation suggest that surroundings, what is occurring at the times behaviour is presented are noted and then the reaction of Tom. Check medication has not altered, family issues as could be transfer of distress background work first then start looking at help
