Hi, welcome to the site.
It would be hard to list experiences as there could be so many.
What do your policies and procedures mention for settling in periods, enrolement processes, key or link workers, update meetings, induction or open days - tours, home - setting communications: newsletter, after/prior & open session communications/feedback. Parents pack, welcome pack, prospectus? - where are these stored for ease of access
Are parents invited to stay with their child/ren for a pre arranged length of time - hours, minutes, or termly to help with transitions - how are books kept to record who's present in the setting/where are they kept, how do you ask for them to be filled in, is there a clock somewhere or system to let parents know the time.
When is a staff member allocated to the Child's record keeping/ a setting's own discovery book/learning journal and how are they introduced to the parents - child's link worker, book's maintenance officer? where are the books kept, when are they passed over/shared, added to, how easy is it to get to them, how is confidentiality explained - do you have a blank example for children and parents to look through?
How do you discuss the planning or arrangement of your setting - times for outdoor and indoor play, visits to a gym/playground/gross physical activity, focus art & craft themes ... tours and showing children toys and resources available ..
Do you lend books, storysacks or activity bags, explain about rotas, parent help days, ways to be involved and reassured that you are all working together to help everyone's time at the setting to be a good one. Where are these kept, how are they given out/selected and returned.
If it helps and you feel it appropriate you are welcome to briefly outline the accounts you've already identified
Enjoy Silkysteps
