Need help please,
I need four different examples of play opportunities and describe how I would put them into practice to support development of speech, language and communication.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks

role play is a great opportunity for communication! i work in reception class and our role play area was a vets not long ago, with animals (teddies), notebook and pencils, an old telephone, a vets dressing up outfit, bandages, plastic doctors set.

we chose a few children at a time to go in the role play area. we had a vet, a receptionist and a child with a poorly pet. the child with the pet would take it to the vets and the receptionist would ask how they could help them. the child would reply by saying whats wrong with their pet. the receptionist then asked for child's details (name, pets name, phone number), and the receptionist would book them an appointment or show them to the vet.

the vet would then talk to the child with the pet and see how they could help them etc.

hope this helps. x
