Hi,
Have you looked at health and safety issues, such as, carrying out risk assessments? Or accident reports? By using these forms of records it will cover both children and staff, for example, if a child bumped his head and was treated at the time, the record home and the accident book at the setting would be filled in with the right details and if the child's health got worse this protects both adult and child as the records can be referred to if needed to.
You settings policies and procedures can help you as these are in place to protect staff and children.
Other examples may be: safeguarding, hygiene, data protection etc

Hope this helps
